Project Overview
The UN Headquarters in India has tasked us with designing the Annual Report for 2020, titled ‘UN with India – Annual Report 2020’. The primary focus of this report is to highlight the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in India and showcase how the United Nations mobilized its resources and capabilities to support the country throughout the challenging year of 2020. The report also aims to showcase the collaborative efforts between the United Nations agencies and the Government of India as outlined in the Government of India – United Nations Sustainable Development Framework (UNSDF).
Problem Statement
The COVID-19 pandemic posed unprecedented challenges for India, affecting various aspects of society, including health, economy, education, and more. The task is to effectively communicate the extent of these challenges and the initiatives taken by the United Nations in collaboration with the Indian government to address them. The challenge lies in presenting a vast amount of data and information in a clear, engaging, and visually appealing manner, while also highlighting the key priorities outlined in the UNSDF.
Our Approach
The design approach prioritized clarity, engagement, and visual coherence. Data was organized into seven color-coded sections aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals. Clean layouts with intermingling color blocks were employed for effective information presentation. A stencil font added an experimental touch, while infographics simplified complex data. Photography played a key role, with captions emphasizing visuals and narratives. The goal was to create a concise and impactful Annual Report highlighting the UN’s collaboration with India amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
