Project Overview
Embassy Restaurant, a historic dining destination in Connaught Place, Delhi, has been a symbol of fine cuisine and hospitality since 1948. Founded by Gopal Krishan Ghai and Prem Nath Malhotra, it has built a legacy of quality and tradition. As the restaurant continues to serve generations of patrons, the need arose to refresh its brand identity while preserving its rich heritage.
Problem Statement
The challenge was to modernize Embassy’s visual identity without compromising its timeless charm. The existing logo, with its distinctive signature style, required a refined update. Additionally, developing a new brand symbol that resonated with both the restaurant’s legacy and its location in Connaught Place was crucial. The refreshed identity needed to maintain a seamless connection across various touchpoints, from branding and communication to the restaurant’s interiors and exteriors.
Our Approach
To refine the logo, we carefully redrew it with a lighter touch and bolder form, enhancing its elegance while staying true to its original character. The creation of a brand symbol was a collaborative effort with the owners, Avantika and Pranay Bhal. We designed a circular emblem representing a “complete meal,” integrating interconnected sections that narrate the Embassy story and its iconic location. Additionally, we introduced a heritage stamp featuring the establishment year, 1948, reinforcing the brand’s historical significance. The updated visual identity is now embedded into Embassy’s overall communication strategy, ensuring consistency across marketing materials, restaurant interiors, and exterior branding. This revitalized identity honors the past while embracing a refined, contemporary appeal.
