Project Overview

The ADAA coffee table book for Samsung serves as a design inspiration resource tailored for the in-house design team. It delves into India’s rich style evolution, spanning from the ancient Indus Valley Civilization to the contemporary 21st century. With a focus on diverse influences, the book aims to uncover untapped design inspiration within India’s cultural heritage.

Problem Statement

Despite India’s profound influence on global design, its potential as a source of inspiration remains largely untapped. The challenge lies in synthesizing the vast array of historical, cultural, and contemporary design elements into a cohesive and accessible resource for the Samsung design team.

Our Approach

We conducted thorough research on India’s design history, structured content into pre-independence, post-independence, and post-1991 eras, and curated diverse elements like architecture, fashion, and technology. We developed an icon and color-coded system for easy navigation and received valuable feedback from stakeholders, resulting in a well-received and inspiring resource for the Samsung design team.
